Better image quality
Digital slides scanned with the 1.15 software are sharper using a 3CCD camera and have better focus. (available only for 3CCD Hitachi and CIS camera)
New 3 CCD camera
The CIS 3 CCD camera with 2 MegaPixels for each color provides maximum resolution, lower noise and higher framerate than our previous 3 CCD camera.
Interpolated focus in brightfield
Before scanning, the software measures the focus at multiple reference points over the sample. Based on these focus reference points, the software creates a focus map which will be used during scanning. This new focus algorithm provides a more stable focusing quality and faster scanning compared to the previous method.
New focusing algorithm
Ensures the optimum focus for the human eye. 3DHISTECH won the 40x image quality contest on the 1st European Scanner Contest by using this algorithm.
Fluorescence developments
New camera for fluorescence
Support for a new high end monochrome camera PCO.edge featuring a high resolution, high framerate scientific CMOS chip, 16 bit image recording and extreme sensitivity with lower noise level.
Lumencor light source
A new fluorescence light source is integrated into the system, which features six switchable channels, a lifetime of 10.000+ hours and higher power than a 120W metal halide short arc lamps. The channel switching takes only 200µs. Combined with a multi-band filter, Lumencor enables perfect co-localization and faster scanning of fluorescent slides. The new fluorescence camera can control the light source to turn the channels on and off for the exact exposure time the camera needs, thus eliminating unnecessary bleaching of the sample.
Z-STACK function in brightfield and fluoresence
With Z-stack the scanner saves multiple focus layers into the digital slide. Focusing is now possible in the Pannoramic Viewer just like using an optical microscope.
Scan to Server
Now it is possible to scan directly to the CaseCenter with the use of the Scan to Server functionality. The slides are instantly available in CaseCenter from anywhere in the world as soon as the slides are scanned in.
64-bit Windows 7
Thanks to the 64 bit operating system we can utilize larger amount of memory, the scanner program operates faster and more reliably. Starting from the 1.15. software version the scanner program runs only on 64 bit Windows 7 operating system.
