ISO 13485 certification
It is our great pleasure to announce that our company, 3DHISTECH Ltd. has received the certificate of ISO 13485 proving that our company meets the requirements of a comprehensive management system for designing and manufacturing medical devices.
ISO 13485 requires that an implemented quality system is maintained for development, assembling, testing and sales of digital pathology laboratory systems.

New Hardware Features
Flash scanning technology for brightfield
More than twice as fast scanning with improved image quality compared to the previous scanners.
15 x 15 mm scanned area in 2 minutes at 45x resolution! No other scanner scans at that resolution and speed. New flash light based illumination was developed and a new high speed 3CCD camera was implemented.
Image quality is increased by a new focusing algorithm that finds a visually more appealing focus and image sharpening. We won with this technology the “image quality” award of the 1st European Scanner Contest in 2010 in Berlin.
All new fluorescence scanning technology
More than twice as fast fluorescence scanning with increased image quality.
Scientific CMOS camera
Its low noise is comparable to EMCCD. It records the faintest signal and provides perfect black background.
It has high frame rate up to 40 frames per second to digitize the sample as quickly as possible.
Solid state light engine
It is brighter than metal halide light sources and provides shorter exposure times and faster scanning.
It is very stable in short and long term use. Short term stability provides better images and better results for quantitative measurments. Long term stability means that no maintenance or lamp change is required.
Real time excitation shuttering
This technology provides the least theoretically possible bleaching of the sample.
Dark field preview
Fluorescence samples become visible by this feature.
Faster filter wheel
The filter wheel is twice as fast compared to previous Pannoramic scanners. It provides faster scanning for special wavelength without available multibandpass filters.
Magazine cover
The magazine cover protects samples from ambient light to minimize bleaching.
Objective changer
The new built in objective changer can switch between an 0.8 NA and an 0.95 NA objective providing 30x and 60x magnification.
New Software Feature
Z-STACK function in brightfield and fluoresence
Digital slides can be refocused in the Viewer like in a real microscope.
An Extended Focus (EF) image is also created during scanning. On the EF image all parts of the slide are in focus.

Digital slide use with TMA Master
The new control software version of the TMA Master enables the use of digital slides. If you create a HE section of your donor block and you scan it with a Pannoramic digital slide scanner you can create TMA Master markers on the digital slide.
In the TMA Master control software you can align the digital slide and the donor block image and you can superimpose the TMA Master markers over the donor block image.
As the marking on the digital slide can be done remotely the pathologist has only to mark the interesting areas on the digital slide and the assistant will know from where to punch.

New software to download
Now you are able to download a trial version of the 3D module of MIRAX Viewer. The software works with serial MIRAX digital slides and creates the three-dimensional reconstruction of the tissue.
Moreover, the MIRAX SlideAC SDK is also available for download. With the SlideAC you can get the original image information out of .MRXS slides for your software applications. The SlideAC is offered free of charge to you but you have to make a statement about the purpose of use first.
Both the 3D module and the MIRAX SlideAC SDK are available after registration and login.

SCAN 150
Enjoy the second generation of the MIRAX prominent! MIRAX SCAN 150 has a reworked loading mechanism for enhanced reliability. Now you can attach multiple decals on the barcode area, it will not get stuck. Filling the cassette up with slides is also easier. No further structural modifications were made so the batch capacity drops to 150. With our latest scanning speed developments this means a full load can be scanned overnight.

Fluorescent compensation slides3DHISTECH now offers special compensation slides for fluorescence. With the help of these slides the scan program can compensate for the illumination unevenness which occurs often when scanning in FL. May release news part 2 - Camera changerExtremely fast and high quality scanning in fluorescence and in brightfield with one digital slide scanner? You do not have to make a compromise any more with the camera changer that can be applied on MIRAX digital slide scanners. With this camera changer from Zeiss you can switch between two cameras (preferably between the camera recommended for FL scanning - ie. the AxioCam MRm - and the one for brightfield - e.g. the 3CCD Hitachi) within a second.
Please note that MIRAX digital slide scanners with the camera changer option will be available from Q4 2008 from Zeiss.

Scan your fluorescent slides in 10 different channels! The filter turret of MIRAX SCAN and MIRAX MIDI supports 10 fluorescent filters that you can use.
You can define separate scan settings (e.g. extended focus) for each of the 10 channels.
Viewing
View every single channel separately! With this feauture you can examine the different reactions easier.
With the pseudo-colorization you are able to define new colors for any channel.

3DHISTECH licences CDC patent3DHISTECH licences the U.S. Patent 7,027,628, entitled “Automated Microscopic Image Acquisition, Compositing, and Display” from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
"The program allows for the recreation of larger images which are constructed from individual microscopic fields captured in up to five focal planes and two magnifications. This program may be especially useful for the creation of data archives for diagnostic and teaching purposes and for tracking histological changes during disease progression."
With this licence 3DHISTECH is able to scan digital slides with more focal planes stored. This way the user can detect the spatial changes of a histological specimen with MIRAX virtual slides.
